One day after attacking with long-range missiles from the United States, Ukraine has now launched an attack on Russia using missiles from the United Kingdom. CNN reported this information citing Russian military blogs and Reuters.
The report states that on Tuesday, Ukraine fired US-made ‘Army Tactical Missile System’ (ATACMS) into Russia. The following day, Wednesday, Ukraine launched British Storm Shadow cruise missiles into Russian territory.
An unnamed official confirmed this information to Reuters. British media has also reported Ukraine’s attack using UK-manufactured missiles.
However, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Yemerov neither confirmed nor denied this information. When asked whether attacks were carried out using British-made missiles, Rustem said yesterday, “We will use everything to defend our country. We won’t provide detailed information, but we are sending what we are capable of using to respond.”
Earlier on Wednesday, a Russian military blogger posted some images on Telegram. They claimed that 12 missiles were launched in Russia’s Kursk region.
However, details about the extent of damage or casualties in these attacks remain unknown.
On February 24, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation in Ukraine. Since then, the conflict between the two countries has continued for approximately 1,001 days. Both sides have reported numerous casualties. Currently, there are no signs of the war ending. On the contrary, conflicts in eastern Ukraine have significantly intensified.
