North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has stated that North Korea will stand by Russia against the West. He said that Pyongyang will support Moscow in safeguarding Russia’s national sovereignty against Western forces.
Kim made this remark during a meeting with Russian Deputy Defense Minister Andrey Belousov, who arrived in Pyongyang on Friday (November 29) to discuss defense cooperation between the two countries.
The relationship between Russia and North Korea has reached new heights. Recently, they signed a comprehensive strategic military partnership agreement. According to the agreement, if one party is attacked, the other will provide military and other assistance without delay by all means necessary.
According to North Korea’s state media, KCNA, Kim condemned the recent “reckless military provocations” by the West and Ukraine and praised the growing cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. He also highlighted Kyiv’s recent attacks deep into Russia using foreign-made long-range weapons.
The North Korean leader stated that the use of long-range weapons deep inside Russia amounts to “direct military intervention in the conflict.” He asserted that Russia has the “right to self-defense” and called for taking “firm measures to make the enemy forces pay the price.”
Kim further added that North Korea will always support the Russian Federation’s policies aimed at protecting sovereignty and territorial integrity against the imperialist powers’ dominance efforts.
