Latest Update on Khaleda Zia's Possible Foreign Travel

The decision regarding BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia’s travel abroad has reportedly been finalized. If all goes as planned, she is expected to leave Bangladesh on November 8 for advanced medical treatment.

Former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s travel plans for medical treatment abroad have been confirmed. If everything goes as planned, she is set to leave Bangladesh on November 8. Accompanying her will be a medical board consisting of seven doctors, nurses, and assistants, totaling 16 individuals.

Khaleda will first be transported to London via a specialized long-distance air ambulance. From there, based on medical advice, she may be taken to a multi-disciplinary health center in either the United States or Germany for further treatment.

Her personal physician, Professor A.Z.M. Zahid Hossain, stated that preparations to move her to a multi-disciplinary advanced health center are nearing completion. They have already secured the specialized air ambulance for the trip.

As a former prime minister, Khaleda Zia’s medical travel has been coordinated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which is assisting with visa arrangements for her and her companions.

However, her departure ultimately depends on her health condition and the confirmation of the specialized air ambulance. Consequently, the travel date might be adjusted slightly. Khaleda Zia, aged 79, is suffering from several health issues, including liver cirrhosis, heart disease, and diabetes, which have necessitated prolonged medical care.
